This 4-ingredient cherry-berry smoothie practically screams summer. It's refreshing, practically effortless to make (seriously, it takes less than five minutes!), and simply delicious. It's one of my favorites and I make it on repeat all summer long.
Whether you enjoy it as a quick breakfast on the go or as a casual poolside beverage, this cherry smoothie is sure to please. And, best of all for any banana-haters out there — there are no bananas in sight in this recipe!
Ingredients
This 4-ingredient cherry-berry smoothie recipe is so simple and refreshing. Here's what you'll need:
- Frozen cherries — naturally anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants, fiber, and many other important nutrients
- Frozen strawberries — rich in nutrients like vitamin C, fiber, and potassium
- Frozen blueberries — can aid in digestion and are high in vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin K
- Non-dairy milk of choice — I prefer cashew milk because it's super creamy and a bit thicker than some other non-dairy options.
You can find the full recipe, including quantities, in the recipe card below.
Tip: Take advantage of fresh summer produce — buy in bulk or visit a local u-pick farm market to stock up on fresh fruit, like strawberries, blueberries, and cherries. Then, simply wash your fruit, pit your cherries, de-stem your strawberries, and store them all in freezer zipper bags so you'll have fresh fruit for your smoothies for months to come.
Instructions
Place all ingredients in your blender.
Blend well until thoroughly combined.
Enjoy!

Smoothie Variations
Smoothies are an easy way to get your fruits and vegetables, and this smoothie's bright, fresh flavors make it simple to sneak in some extra veggies. Try these variations:
- Cherry-berry kale smoothie: add ¼ - ½ cup fresh or frozen kale
- Cherry-berry spinach smoothie: add ¼ - ½ cup fresh or frozen spinach
- Swap out the non-dairy milk: for an even stronger fruity flavor, use cherry juice or apple juice instead
- Add your favorite vegan protein powder: toss in a little vanilla protein powder for an extra boost.
Equipment
You'll need a blender to make this smoothie. Typically, I use my Beast Blender Deluxe system, but I also have an older Ninja blender set that I'll use if I'm making a full pitcher of smoothies.
However, don't stress if you don't have a high-powered blender, as you can make this smoothie using just about any blender. If you experience any issues — like the frozen fruit getting stuck — stop the blender, add a little more liquid, and stir to loosen up the frozen fruit chunks. Then cover and blend once more.
Storage
This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately after blending, rather than storing for later, as it will start to separate as it sits.
Tip: If freezer space is a hot commodity in your home and storing three separate bags of frozen fruit is unrealistic, some grocery stores, including Target, sell a cherry-strawberry-blueberry frozen fruit blend. While the ratios might end up a bit off from the recipe, feel free to use that instead to save on space!
FAQ
You can, however, it will make your smoothie quite a bit thinner. If you only have fresh fruit on hand, add some ice cubes while blending to help achieve a similar consistency.
I wouldn't recommend it. Smoothies are best enjoyed immediately after blending before they settle and separate.
